Sheffield's Volunteer Libraries are starting to re-open
Over the last few months, we have been looking forward to re-opening our doors to customers once again. Government guidance now enables us to start to restore services, subject to us following guidance. So over the coming weeks, you will start to see local libraries re-opening.
Each library is different in terms of its building, its customers, its volunteer team and the range of services it provided before lockdown. This means that volunteer libraries will be re-opening at different times and offering different services. Gradually, we will be able to restore more and more of the services our customers appreciate. Please be patient as we work to re-open in a way that is safe for our customers and volunteers.
This portal gives you access to all of the volunteer libraries so that you can see what they offer. During the lockdown period, a number of libraries have been providing resources and information, either on their websites or their Facebook pages (and other social media). Many of these will still be available.
Please use the Find a library option to connect with your local library.
Sheffield eLibrary is still available and there’s plenty to read! If you aren’t a library member, you can join the library today using the Sheffield eLibrary option at the top of this page. You will then be able to use the eLibrary online to access ebooks, audio books, magazines and comics.
